This is where I have a problem, and it’s kind of a weird problem. He’s strung Belial up in some sort of torture device in order to use his blood in the viewing pool, an act that makes Belial very angry (though he might simply be jealous of all the attention Trigon pays to Raven).Īnd so, Trigon explains why Raven is the key to ruling the 7th Kingdom, which I’m pretty sure is Earth. Trigon has three sons: Belial, Raskoff and Suge.
#Spectre dc raven full#
Speaking of Raven’s full biography, we jump to Trigon, who has retreated to his realm and watches the Titans interact with his daughter on some kind of blood-spell viewing pool. Maybe they picked up the latest issue of Secret Origins Seriously, did I miss the scene where Raven gave the Titans her full biography? Then everybody once again acts like they know all about Raven, even though they’ve never met her before and have no reason to understand that she is Trigon’s daughter.

And if they’re going to now come after him, he’ll just kill them too! But Kid Flash slams Psimon’s face into the pavement before he can kill Solstice. They call him a monster, but Psimon insists he did it to save all of them from Trigon. Trigon has disappeared and Psimon killed all those first-responders, for which the Titans are appropriately freaked out. We open in the destruction leftover from last issue. Definitely nothing about Red Robin being ‘reborn’ as the cover would indicate. The origin is book-ended by short scenes with the Titans, and they don’t do much of anything. Pretty much nothing else happens in the rest of the issue. But after this issue, she’s a complicated, pointless mess of a character.

I like her new costume, and I kind of liked the life being built for her. However, I’ve rather liked what we’ve seen of Raven. I’ve pretty much disliked everything we’ve seen from Trigon so far, and this issue adds even more garbage to his story. Trigon is definitely one of those things, and now we can add Raven to that list as well. To an extent, I realize that my dislike of Teen Titans stems almost completely from the comic diverging from what I want to see, or what I think could be done better. Instead, it’s just Trigon narrating the long, complicated origin of Raven. Evil Red Robin doesn’t even show up in this issue (thank God). It’s comics omnipotence at its finest, truly the ghostess with the mostest 🥰.The cover is a total lie. I hope you can enjoy the awesomeness of Spectre even half as much as I do. Also it’s a little more jump around and not issue to issue. And while the powers are pretty much the same, the tone and how they’re used are much lighter. This is a much more episodic approach as all the stories don’t really connect but are more one shot stories. The times make it a little wordier but as I said this is only if you’re up for it. Now if you’re a little more adventurous 😉, then I suggest Adventure comics of the early to mid 70s. Think of Spectre like a gun that’s gonna fire no matter what, but you can aim it. It shows how Aztar control’s Spectre from his part, but how Jim still has influence.

On top of all this it really shows off who Spectre is as Aztar and Jim plus how they work together. 🖤 More than enough issues to keep you in it for a long time. The ups and downs of immortality, great power, heartbreak, romance, morality, the whole nine yards. 🖤 It really shows off who Jim is and gives him depth. They even retell/slightly alter abrahamic stories at times.

#Spectre dc raven serial#
Heaven, Hell, gangs, serial killers, angels, demons, drugs, sex, you name it! And that’s not even the whole thing, sometimes it ventures away from all. 🖤 A very nice blend of street crime and celestial entanglements. There is little to no limit, it’s borderline a vertigo book at times. 🖤 It gets dark, gritty, bloody, and gory. 🖤 Extremely action filled but still focuses on story in nice tying in way. 🖤 Modern enough to that it won’t take you out of things A multitude of reasons, here most of them: Ok, so the 1st thing is gonna wanna read is Spectre vol 3.
